What other websites have seller/producer rating similar to 'Power Sellers' on ebay? Where can I find Info?
Q. I am looking for a symbol status that is given to sellers or producers of items that give them a certain level of prestige or status as with 'power sellers' on ebay. How does it work? what are the requirements? would customers rather buy from these sellers? etc. Where can I find info?

A. I've been an eBay "Power Seller" for nine years. Despite all the hoopla that eBay puts out trying to inflate the importance of the Power Seller rating, I haven't seen any evidence that it means anything to my business on eBay. I've never known any customer to choose my products simply because I was a Power Seller. Frankly, I think my very competitive pricing and 5000+ favorable feedback rating means more to my customers than some phony rating system. I know of no other auction site that follows this same strategy.

I am a seller on eBay and have a question regarding how disputes are handled between buyers and sellers?
Q. I have 100% feedback so far. I sold to a buyer and in my auction I made everything clear regarding the product and made NO guarantees what so ever also, in my auction it stated clearly that all sales were final!!! Why did this woman open a dispute and is requesting her money back when I never offered any guarantees and stated all sales were final. She received the merchandise on time but she email me 2 times a day being very insulting. I use google credit card checkout as my processor and NOT paypal. My terms of sales was stated upfront to this woman, she had sufficient time to ask questions or back out of the sale. I was totally upfront with my policy can this still resort in a charge back from my credit card processor?

A. Unfortunately, anything can result in a charge back from your credit card processor. The law is in favor of the consumer, so when they open up a dispute, they typically get their money back first, and then it is up to you to prove the charge and that they owe you the money. It sounds like your ad was clear, so as long as you have a paper trail of every communication it is very possible that you will win in the end and the woman will end up having to pay you, but in the meantime it can be quite a hassle. If the auction wasn't for a very expensive item you may just consider asking for her to return the product and return her money (and don't do business with her again), it will likely end up costing you less in the long run, and will… [cont.]

How do you search on eBay by sellers rather than items?
Q. Hi, I would like to know how you would use ebay to search for a seller (who is not saved on you list of favourite sellers) so that you can find a particular seller and what they have on offer. Reason being is that I know of a few sellers that sell games etc fairly cheap but I'd like to see what games they are selling rather than searching through 33 pages of one game to find their name. Thanks for your help!

A. If you re interested in seeing items listed by a particular seller you like, you can search for items by seller. When you search by seller, you enter the seller s User ID, and eBay displays the exact match as well as any close matches. In addition to accessing the seller s items, you can also access the seller s Feedback Profile and eBay Store. Note: For privacy reasons, you must know the member's User ID to use this feature. If you know the eBay member's email address, you can find their User ID by using Find a Member To search for items by seller: Click the Advanced Search link located at the top of most eBay pages. On the left side of the page under Search, click the Items by Seller link. Enter the seller s User ID. Select or… [cont.]
