A home is a place of residence or refuge comfort. It is usually a place in which an individual or a family can rest and be able to store personal property. Most modern-day households contain sanitary facilities and a means of preparing food. Animals have their own homes as well, either living in the wild or in a domesticated environment. As an alternative to the definition of "home" as a physical locale, home may be perceived to have no physical definition--instead, home may relate instead to a mental or emotional state of refuge or comfort.

There are certain cultures in which members lack permanent homes, such as with nomadic people.

Buying a manufactured home that is not in a community?
Q. I have placed an offer on a manufactured home in good condition, built in the 70s. The home seems like a good investment because the area is very nice, it is NOT in a manufactured/mobile home community, and nothing about the home feels or looks like a stereotypical manufactured home (thin walls, etc.). Does all this make a difference in the resale value, since the home is on a normal residential street? Thanks.

A. Some banks won't deal with a manufactured/mobile in a park so that is good that it isn't. Is it a double or single wide? That also makes a difference when it comes selling time. Good Luck!

Ending a home based business - what are the tax implications?
Q. I've been writing off my home based business for the last few years. If I stop using that portion of my home solely for my business, how do I indicate that on my taxes? Additionally, does anyone know of any resources that indicate what the implications are of stopping a home based business write-off? I see lots of information on how/what to write-off for a home based business, but can't seem to find anything on what to do when that ends.

A. You don't show on your tax that you ended the business, but keep track of the depreciation allowed or allowable while you were claiming the home office deduction - you'll need that number when you sell the house.

A. it goes back to econ 101. the principles are the same, but for sake of argument lets assume people want to buy gloves (each one is unique). we will also assume that instead of a fixed price people can haggle with the cashier. let us say company a makes 100 gloves because they think about 100 people want to buy them. Let us assume they were right and 100 people want to buy them. Everyone will pay what they think the gloves are worth plus a little bit (a premium) so they can get the pair they like the best before someone else gets them. Now suppose 110 people want to buy those same 100 gloves. people will pay a higher premium to get the gloves because they know that more people want them overall and there is a greater chance someone… [cont.]
