How does a US company benefit from not having to report to the US tax dep't about money paid to a foreign cont?
Q. A Us company doing bis in China wants a contractor to fill out a w-8ben form. US company says it is so they don't have to report about fees paid to the contractor to the US tax dep't. How does this benifit the company? Wouldn't they WANT to report expenses, and not have to pay tax on that money?

Q. I know we have a free trade agreement. Does that mean the animal will be relatively low cost to ship? How long will it be held up in customs? Will it die there?

A. Nafta ia for commercial trade and has nothing to so with an individual shipping an animal to Mexico. Sure wish you had said what kind of animal. Some cannot be brought into Mexico and others require a license. If it is a cat or dog, it needs a current shot record and rabies shot and an international health exam record..including a statement that the animal has been checked for parasites and has none. You can use any of the American airlines that fly to Mexico or you can use a pet transport service. They would most likely be able to help you with regulations in case the animal is not a dog or cat.

A. Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States of America. Everyone living in Puerto Rico at a certain time and date (I'm not sure what it was) became American citizens, and thereafter, anyone born in Puerto Rico is automatically an American citizen. Its the same for where I am from, the US territory of Guam in the Pacific Ocean. I'm an American and I'm damned proud of it. I'm sure any number of Puerto Ricans feel the same way I do.
